Its like you are speeding on a runway and suddenly you feel you are growing old. An adrenaline rush paves the way to think a whole lot radical and rational. You ponder over the question of what. You want to be warm like the rays of sun on a cold morning, but you’ll be the cold itself. Going back to the times spent with all my friends. As Ted says ‘Here’s a thing about life, even though you know you are making a mistake you make it.’ Ah, so true. There is so much in life that I have done and that I want to do. Mistakes were done, but then I am contended now. For the things that I want to do, I will do them even though i feel it might be a mistake, at-least I wont repent in the future that I should have done this thing in the past. Ah, there you go, my heart feels light like ever before. Its been friends, mistakes & me all my life. Singing Bob’s redemption song -

“…Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery..
None but ourselves can free our minds…”

A prey to change; a pray for change

I could still see the same glitter in his eyes. He looked more elated than the last time I saw him. That same face just winked at me “How you doing bro’?” Anupendra Chattopadyay was known for his stiff upper lip. Tall, fair and well built, an Indian with a Lancashire touch. Last six years he has changed 5 jobs. “Change is mandatory bro’, u need to learn to live life! Change is habit, change is everything mate!” He knows what he is talking. He knows what he is doing. He may not be the most successful person of his batch, but he is happy. He knows he is the reason for what he is today. He is a typical prey to change. Period

I am definitely not asking you to shift your job. This whole concept of change revolves around what is known as paradigm. We are not dealing with the paradigm analysis, but there is intimate relation between the two. Change is an inherent property that some want, some do not want. Paradigm plays its part here, the concept of paradigm paralysis, when you have a thought instilled in your brain and u don’t want to clean it up (thanks to the TQM programme attended last week!). Others are those who definitely want too much change in their life. Prey. We are talking about change that is optimum. Too much of anything is bad. Who decides on how much you want to change is yourself.

…He got down the 1980’s Ashok Leyland. His plain dark shirt had a darker and lighter side now. You could see him soaked in sweat. His thick rimmed glasses were slipping down his nose. Short and stout, you could make out Mr. Desai even with a defect of -4. He just banged the door and sat down with his top buttons open.

“Why don’t they get the material on time, I still don’t understand.”
"Do we actually need this entire approval process?”
“Do we need this system at all?”
“Why is not the breaker design this way?”
The words which Mr. Desai speaks everyday at office. He wouldn’t have got any angrier. He has been working in the company for the past two decades.
“You change it Mr. Desai”, said an enthusiast beside.
“What? Who am I to do that? Why should I?”
It’s all in your hands, mates. I pray for change. Period

Change is not only for personal cause, it is there in all walks of life. Organizations need change. Governments need change. Everything needs change. The inert instincts that are potentially needed to run them are provoked by change. Even while writing these words, I shudder to say that the desire to achieve the best is gone in us. The systems and processes in the present world are being followed throughout the years, they still are followed. Everyone curses each other on the placing of the systems. Everyone wants a change. No one is ready to put forward the change. No one wants to change. The mental boundaries that exist between the people interfere with change. These walls can actually be perceived differently. Again, paradigm. If the whole thing is about a shift in the paradigm then yes, that is what I am talking about. At any point of time, there would be three kinds of people reading this. One kind are those who want a change in their life, one who don’t want to, and of course people who have been a part of it, all throughout their life.

The Danish Couple rightly said -'Boundaries exist, but only in the minds who accept them.'

CONVERSATIONS - Part2

Mr. T: If u think u can sell an ashtray to a thousand different non-smokers in thousand different ways..then u must be in sales!!
-----

Reuters: UNDER ONE ROOF
The conclusion is unanimous. The gender line do seem to be blurring as the youth today are more emancipated with success, education and money. Friendship scores over sexist issues and personalities override gender basis. Although change is eminent, the society will take a while to become completely gender blind.

INDIANIZING WOMEN!

Some of the few facts that i thought would be a something to ponder upon!

52.48 % of Indian women and literate.
Every 30 mins- one woman raped
Every 75 mins- one woman being killed
One of every five women raped, is under 18
10 million fetuses have been aborted in the past one decade.

IRONY: people now are celebrating the coming of the first woman president, and ofcourse celebrating in a place(capital of india) where there is no security for woman to roam freely on roads. Apparently, people are boasting about the same so much that India would now be focussed more as the one emphasizing on woman empowerment. No doubt she is the first woman president and people elected her expecting a more respected society where equality to sex is amplified! But will she prove to be the one people expected? will she??
INDIA's waiting!

SWISS or SPAIN!

Tournoi de Roland-Garros- McEnroe missed it in '84 , Sampras missed it in '96, Connors missed it in'79, '84, Federer missed out in '06. Still these remain as the top players of the era! Chris Evert & Bjorn Borg, if people might not put them on this list, it would be a mistake-the so called KINGS of clay. Rafael Nadal would undoubtedly be one among them. the 81 streak which he had with him for these many days, ofcourse until recently when he was defeated at a clay court match in Hamburg, he said-"Perhaps, Federer is the only man who could have stopped me from winning my 82nd one." Weeks before the French Grand Slam, these words would have definitely raised Roger's confidence. Its always good to watch the top 2 seeds battle for the Grand slam, never was so interesting in the past, Agassi and Sampras sometimes was! This 2007 French Open would be no different. For people who expect miracles to happen, I guess they wouldn't be satisfied. More so than anything, Nadal beating his mentor Moya in quarters would lead him to Semis. And more so than anything, Roger and Nadal will storm into finals. And who from there would win... is nothing known. SWISS or SPAIN will have a reason to celebrate on June 10th. Lets see! I definitely am a watcher... love to be in SWISS or SPAIN on June 10th. And let the battle begun!
